“CALLING TOKYO”, a creative project
introducing Tokyo’s latest attractions.
The project captures teenage girls expressing fashion in daily life.
The photographs are raw, unedited, untouched.
The photographer refers to this technique
as “straight photography,”
the notion that photography should mimic
what the eye naturally sees.
The first photo exhibition was held
at Laforet Harajyuku museum in April 29th, 2015.
This photo exhibit was also displayed alongside other exhibitions
such as fashion magazine Harper’s BAZAAR,
David Lynch’s ,Cannes Film Festival award winning Palme d’Or,
and Mika Ninagawa, a female photographer representing Japan.
CALLING TOKYO’s first photographic installation
“CREATIVE INSTALLATION 1997”
features three native Tokyo Girls all born in the same year 1997,
showcased about 50 large photos and a collaboration between visual art and dance music,
which was received with great accolade.
CALLING TOKYO Vol.1 - Vol.3
featured 32 color pages per volume
and were delivered to nearly 200 fashion shops in Harajuku.
We’ve devlivered our full color CALLING TOKYO
portrait photo books to a culture/fashion magazine
to multiple fashion/culture magazines including:
ID (United Kingdom), Numero (France), Self Portrait (Holland)
and 22 other fashion editorial departments around the world.
To date, we’ve received great feedback about the photo book.
General producer, photographer, Yoshinori Itoh,
was deeply involved in the music industry, fashion industry
and publishing circles throughout the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.
CALLING TOKYO project is currently
looking for female models
who are willing to introduce
Tokyo’s charm to the rest of the world.
